The Veloforte Desto Energy Gel is a proverbial endurance jack of all trades. It delivers 22g of dual-source carbohydrates per 33g sachet, giving you quick, sustained energy during hard efforts. A 75mg caffeine boost, derived from natural guarana plus a complete electrolyte mix of potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium.

Although this all sounds great, it wouldn't be the best energy gel if it was made with artificial ingredients or nasty fillers. Thankfully, that's just not how Veloforte roll, we've chosen them as they'er made with natural fruit, syrups and botanicals — they’re easy on the stomach and free from artificial sweeteners or stabilisers.

Yes, all Veloforte gels are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free.
What makes Veloforte gels different from Maurten/SIS gels?

Veloforte gels provide ~22 g of dual-source carbs and ~110 mg electrolytes per sachet, plus optional natural caffeine for an extra lift.

They’re made with real fruit syrups and botanicals, silky smooth, and free from artificial flavours or sweeteners.

  • SIS GO Gels also deliver ~22 g of carbs and some versions contain electrolytes, but certain flavours include artificial sweeteners.
  • Maurten Gel 100 delivers 25 g of carbs with minimal ingredients using hydrogel technology, but provides very little sodium (only ~20 mg). We're not a fan of the Hydrogel mouth feel.

Our take: We love Veloforte’s taste and texture. They’re easy to swallow on the move, and the electrolytes make a real difference when it comes to fighting cramps.
Are the Veloforte Energy Gels Caffeinated?

Doppio (Double espresso) comes with 75mg of Caffeine, from a Guarana base, giving a natural caffeine boost.
Will they upset my stomach?

Veloforte gels are made from real fruit syrups and natural ingredients, with no artificial sweeteners or stabilisers. That means they’re generally easier on the stomach than many syrup-heavy or artificially thickened gels.

That said, every athlete’s gut is different. The best approach is to test them in training first before race day to learn how your body responds.

Our take: We’ve found Veloforte gels to be smooth, light and easy to swallow, much gentler on the stomach than synthetic gels, and drinking a little water alongside helps. But always practice with them during training so there are no surprises on event day.
