Friction is easier to prevent than ignore

Anti-chafe creams, portable sachets and a thicker balm for riding, running, triathlon and long active days.

Chamois Butt'r anti-chafe products

The practical job

Protect the contact points before the long day

Chamois Butt'r is designed to reduce friction where skin, fabric and equipment repeatedly meet. Apply it before activity, then adjust the format to the conditions and duration.

Movement

Repeated friction adds up

Skin, seams, straps, saddles and sweat can turn a small rubbing point into the thing that ends a session.

Preparation

Apply before it starts

Use a barrier on the known contact points while skin is intact.

Personal

Your friction map is specific

Clothing, equipment, heat, rain and biomechanics all change where protection is useful.

Choose by feel

Five formulas, one friction problem

Start with texture, skin preference and session conditions. The strongest-sounding option is not automatically the most useful one.

How to apply

A small preparation step with a clear job

Build the application into your kit routine. The useful amount and placement depend on your clothing, equipment, conditions and history of rubbing.

01

Start with clean, dry skin

Apply before getting dressed or before activity, following the current pack.

02

Cover the known rubbing points

Use on intact skin or directly on a cycling chamois where repeated contact occurs.

03

Plan the backup

Sachets are useful for travel and events; Ultra is the thicker option for demanding conditions.

Anti-chafe questions

Know the format before it enters the kit bag

Practical guidance based on current manufacturer information.

Is Chamois Butt'r only for cyclists?

No. It can be used for running, triathlon, hiking and other activities where repeated friction is a problem.

Can I apply it directly to cycling shorts?

Yes. The manufacturer says the creams can be applied to skin or directly to the chamois.

Does it wash out of technical clothing?

Chamois Butt'r states that its creams rinse out without damaging or discolouring technical clothing. Follow each garment's care label.

Which option is aimed at sensitive skin?

Her' and Coconut are most explicitly positioned for sensitive skin. Ingredients differ, so check the current label and patch test if needed.

When should I choose Ultra?

Choose Ultra when you want a thicker solid balm for very long, wet, hot or demanding conditions.

Prepare before you move

Make friction management part of the kit check

Choose the formula that suits your skin, conditions and duration, then apply it before the session.
