Energy bars, gels or chews? What to choose?

Bars provide slower-release energy and satiety, great for long steady efforts. Gels and chews deliver even faster carbs, useful for high-intensity bursts. All are quite compact to carry, Many athletes mix all three depending on the session duration, effort, time and temperature.

When should I take an energy bar?

Enjoy one 30–60 minutes before training as a pre-fuel snack, good for topping up glycogen stores. Or every 60 to 90 minutes during long rides, runs or events. They also work as a wholesome post-session snack.
